Why Choose Our 200 Hour Yoga TTC
At Om Shanti Om Yoga Ashram, our mission is to guide you on a complete path of physical, mental, and spiritual transformation. The course goes far beyond just learning postures — it connects you to the essence of yoga as a way of life.
Our experienced and compassionate teachers offer both individual and group attention, ensuring that every student receives proper guidance throughout their journey. You will not only learn how to teach yoga but also how to live yoga — with awareness, balance, and peace.
What You Will Learn
The 200-hour yoga course offers a comprehensive understanding of all key aspects of traditional yoga — from postures and breathwork to philosophy and teaching skills.
Here’s what the program includes:
1. Yoga Philosophy (Darshana)
Dive into the roots of yoga and Indian philosophy. Learn about the history of yoga, the eight limbs (Ashtanga Yoga), ethics, Indian culture, and the science of self-realization. Understanding these ancient principles helps you build a strong foundation for a true yogic life.
2. Meditation (Dhyana)
Meditation is the heart of yoga. You’ll learn different meditation techniques to quiet the mind, balance emotions, and move toward self-awareness (Samadhi). Daily practice cultivates stillness, clarity, and emotional harmony.
3. Pranayama (Breath Control)
Master ancient breathing techniques that purify the mind and strengthen the respiratory system. You’ll explore various practices — including Anulom Vilom, Kapalabhati, Bhastrika, and more — along with mudras (hand gestures) and bandhas (energy locks) that enhance energy flow.
4. Mantra Chanting
Experience the power of sacred sound through mantra chanting. Each mantra carries unique vibrations that help you focus, cleanse your mind, and connect with your inner self. Chanting brings a sense of peace and devotion to your daily practice.
5. Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga
Learn classical Hatha Yoga asanas to build strength, flexibility, and balance. In Vinyasa Yoga, you’ll flow dynamically with breath and movement, creating a meditative rhythm. Each class focuses on proper alignment, safety, and mindful awareness.
6. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Explore the traditional Ashtanga Primary Series, known for its powerful sequencing and internal cleansing benefits. Ashtanga links every movement with breath, improving blood circulation and purifying the body from within.
7. Yin & Restorative Yoga
Balance your active practices with gentle, meditative yoga styles.
Yin Yoga targets the deep connective tissues and increases flexibility by holding poses longer.
Restorative Yoga uses props like bolsters and blankets to relax the body, release stress, and rejuvenate the nervous system.
8. Sukshma Vyayama (Subtle Exercises)
A unique aspect of our course — Sukshma Vyayama involves subtle, gentle exercises that awaken the pranic (energy) body. These simple yet powerful practices enhance energy flow and mental alertness.
9. Laughter Yoga
Laughter is one of the best therapies for emotional release. Through playful group sessions, you’ll experience the healing effects of joyful, intentional laughter — improving your mood, immunity, and overall well-being.
10. Anatomy & Physiology (Sharir Vijnan)
Gain essential knowledge of the human body and how yoga affects it. You’ll study the muscular, skeletal, respiratory, and nervous systems, along with chakras and energy pathways, helping you understand safe and effective practice.
11. Teaching Methodology
The final part of your training prepares you to become a confident and inspiring yoga teacher. You’ll practice teaching in groups, learn how to create balanced sequences, adjust postures safely, and build the right mindset to guide your students with clarity and compassion.
